Trivium – Rise Above Fest 2014

Metal can be broken into dozens of subsections and influences, and Trivium has been classified by many of those names over the years, but I don’t think they worry about that – they just lay out the music for their fans. There were a lot of Trivium fans at the show, by the way, eating up this band’s metal core sound that is ripe with fast guitar, double bass, and Matt Heafy’s signature vocals. The set list included “Strife,” a new single from a soon to be released album, as well as fan favorites.   We should also mention that Trivium had a brand new drummer for the Rise Above Fest, and features Corey Beaulieu on lead guitar, a Dover-Foxcroft, Maine native.
